The KH Villas project calls for the development of a private gated community to be used by brothers of one family. The program included construction of up to six expansive private houses with common landscaping and service facilities for the whole project.
The project site is a mountain top with steep inclination to one side, and the site is narrow. Under budget restrictions, large cut and fill operation had to be avoided to reduce the need of large earth supporting structures along the project site.
The solution was to create stepped and terraced houses, allowing each house to enjoy expansive views and greenery with minimum obstruction from other houses. To maintain connection, no barriers or fences were proposed between any of the houses. Instead, the landscaping and topography was employed to offer a natural barrier where required.
