The beach area North of Beirut extending between the sea line and the South North main highway is famous for its resorts and beach houses. Approaching the old city of Jabil and Amcheet, the scene enjoys scattered sea house among large orchards, in a traditional Lebanese style with a red tile pyramid roofing.
While designing the Amcheet Beach House, we took inspiration from the existing beach houses and reintroduced them in a modern simplified language. The Amcheet house was designed as a seamless origami style house made of a single wall that wraps from the site to the roof to the site again forming a vault like structure, divided by the floor slabs.
