The Quran School project is located in a small village in a rural area. The program called for a Quran teaching school and a scout centre for boys and girls to serve the local community. On the researching the public architecture of the area, we noticed the lack of any public buildings that can be used for any public occasions, and the lack of creative spaces that can accommodate any learning, invention, or communication.
Looking to the fact that the Quran school facilities will be used for a limited time every week, this meant the building will be vacant for up to 75% of the time. TO address this issues, we designed the building to serve its initial purpose, and yet, to form a community hub and meeting space for the whole village. All the program spaces can be custom used for several functions such as class rooms, training rooms, meeting rooms, theatre, medical facilities, office space, and community meeting space.
