The civil war period, extending from 1975 to 1990 have witnessed a serious deterioration in the quality of architecture and buildings in Lebanon, on the level of quality, structure, and aesthetics, causing a dominant disturbance in the urban scene. This can be observed almost in every city, town, or village all over Lebanon. At LEADMARK we always believe we hold a responsibility on developing and preserving the urban scene and the local and cultural values of the Lebanese architecture.
Under this approached, we have developed several strategies to restore buildings that were built during this area and redesign them in a more ecological and sustainable manner. The MN house is a good example of transferring a modernist randomly built structure into a modern house in a local and traditional design inspiration.
